Information you choose to provide
Newsletter and assessment email forms
When you submit a newsletter or assessment-unlock form, you provide your name and email address directly through an embedded form supplied by AWeber. AWeber is the email service provider used to manage subscriptions and send related emails. The website does not proxy those submissions or maintain a separate subscriber database.
Your details are used to send the material or updates described beside the form. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link included in each email. You may also contact Brian using the address above if you have a question about your subscription.
Assessment information stored in your browser
The Clarity Under Pressure™ Executive Assessment uses browser storage to recover incomplete progress and render completed results. This can include anonymous answers, calculated scores, communication tendency identifiers, maturity labels, recommendations and expiry timestamps.
- Assessment information stays on the device and browser you use unless you clear or restart it.
- Temporary records include an expiry time and are removed or treated as invalid after expiry.
- The site does not store your email address in localStorage or sessionStorage.
- If available after the AWeber form is used, a first name may be held only for the browser session to personalise the results greeting. Results still work without it.
You can remove assessment information by using the assessment's restart or clear option, clearing this site's browser data, or waiting for the temporary data to expire.
Ordinary hosting information
Like most websites, the hosting provider may create ordinary server logs when pages are requested. These logs can include an internet protocol address, browser or device information, requested page, referring page, date and time, and technical status information. Such records are used for website delivery, reliability and security.
Analytics
No analytics provider is enabled by default on this version of the website. The site includes a dormant, provider-neutral event interface for possible future use, but it does not transmit information on its own. If analytics is enabled later, this policy should be updated to identify the provider and information used. Personally identifiable information should not be sent through analytics.
Third-party services and links
Embedded AWeber forms load resources from AWeber and are subject to AWeber's own privacy practices. Links to Amazon and other external websites take you to services operated by those organisations. Their privacy policies apply once you visit or use those services.
Retention
Browser-based assessment information is temporary and governed by the expiry values stored with it. Subscriber details are retained in AWeber for as long as needed to provide the subscription, unless you unsubscribe or request an applicable change or deletion. Hosting logs are retained according to the hosting provider's operational practices.
Sale of personal information
Empathy Superpower does not sell subscriber data.
Security
Reasonable steps are taken to limit collection and use reputable services, but no internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Avoid entering confidential or sensitive personal information into free-text communications unless it is necessary.
Your choices
- Do not submit a form if you do not want to provide your name and email.
- Use the unsubscribe link in any email to stop future subscription messages.
- Clear assessment information using the controls described above.
- Contact brian@empathysuperpower.com with a privacy or subscription request.
